Pulling out a pocket knife in South Louisiana can mean so many things. For many, a pocket knife is part of our daily check list of things packed in our pockets and hung on our belts. My Grandfather Sam always carried a pocket knife. When I was around, it was usually used to shave down the very switch that was used to teach me a valuable lesson, but it was most used to sit down on the front porch swing, and slice fresh fruit and vegetables for all to share.
Ahh, the smell of fresh cut cucumbers. Sliced with a pocket knife, dusted with salt from our local Morton's salt mine, and something marvelous happens. There's nothing like it. It screams fresh, clean, summertime, healthy, and deliciousness!
My "Fresh Sliced Cucumbers" candle embodies the instantly recognizable aroma of ripe cucumbers plucked straight off the vine. Clover, green leaves, basil, and thyme elevate the fresh, true-to-life cucumber, while honeydew melon adds a subtle sweetness.
